Well, because this has been our pattern. We go from shock to trance. You know, oil prices go up, gas prices at the pump go up, everybody goes into a flurry of activity. And then the prices go back down and suddenly we act like it’s not important, and we start, you know, filling up our S.U.V.’s again. And, as a consequence, we never make any progress. It’s part of the addiction, all right. That has to be broken. Now is the time to break it.
Disrupting the Borg is expensive and time consuming!

Yeah, the nerve of markets to respond to supply and demand ! Down with demon capitalists ! What we need is government price controls via command driven spurious EPA regulation !! That’s the ticket ! The government knows what’s best for all the little people. /sarc
About the only time I have seen Obama being honest was in the campaign where he praised $4/gal gasoline. His contempt for the use of it by ANYONE was never in question (the press tried to spin it, but to his credit Obama never denied it).
