Washington And Beijing Worried About The Earth Heating Up

WASHINGTON, DC, January 19, 2011 (ENS) – Presidents Barack Obama and Hu Jintao of China, who is in Washington on an official state visit, said in a joint statement this afternoon that they “view climate change and energy security as two of the greatest challenges of our time.” In an open letter today, U.S. environmental leaders urged the presidents to adopt “a wartime-like mobilization” to cut greenhouse gas emissions.

China is the world’s highest emitter of the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide, with the United States a close second.

Washington may be worried but Beijing sure isn’t. I don’t know how Hu can keep a straight face when talking with our “leaders”.

The Wartime footing needs to be adopted to defend our country from the ECO Whackos that are trying to ruin it!

    Translation;
China encourages Western eco-tards to continue to buy nearly worthless Chinese solar panels, wind ‘turbines’, and cripple western economic competitiveness with idiotic carbon regulations while China marches right on ahead unabated with business as usual (China laughs all the way to the bank). Gullible American eco-tards respond by saying, “where do I sign?”
    ——-
China has about as much devotion to limiting global carbon emissions as they have to protecting Int’l copyrights, patents, trademarks, intellectual property rights, etc, which means that they have NO intention to limiting their carbon emissions.

I wonder if all those people that went to Churchill last fall to save the Polar Bears would like to make a return trip this morning:

    Wind chill warning in effect
    Today

Snow and blowing snow ending this morning then clearing. Wind northwest 40 km/h gusting to 60 diminishing to 20 this morning then becoming light this afternoon. Temperature falling to minus 36 this afternoon. Extreme wind chill minus 52.

    Tonight

Clear. Wind up to 15 km/h. Temperature steady near minus 37. Extreme wind chill minus 50.

It is like any treaty we make with Communist dictatorships. We adhere to the letter of the law, and have Senate hearings (secondary enforcers) to punish those of us who break the slightest rule. The Russians, Chinese, etc., pay lip service, and do what they were doing. If caught (but their apparatchiks don’t allow us to inspect the places of violation, anyway), they say, “prove it”. But our elitists have no intention of proving anything, so we end up in a never-ending, accelerating state of disadvantage. The Chinese will also demand “compensation” for past “violations” of the West that have gotten the world into this “catastrophe”. And we will give it! All the while they will be burning our and Australia’s coal that our countries are not allowed to use.

As Bugs Bunny would say, What a buncha maroons!”

Of course the Chinese are for AGW remediation now, even though their prominent scientists (at first) had dismissed it as rubbish.

Hu must feel like he is negotiating with a fifth grader and laughing himself to sleep at the Ritz Carlton.

As we all well know, more CO2 can make you cold or warm. Also with less CO2 it can be cold or warm. So why then is CO2 so important?

I for once agree with Hansen… I wish China would boycott us so I could quit watching everything for lead or other poisons. They are not likely going to do anything to mess with their cash cow. Especially since theyu are being suscessful at taking the US over from the inside withou firing a shot, just like they said.

    • BioBob says:

do you get the feeling hansen’s days at nasa are numbered?

not to go all postal, but seems like he is in the CROSSHAIRS atm.

      • Sundance says:

This is an embarrassment for Obama with the “real” unemployment rate is 19% and Social Security cash flow negative for the first time in history. An FOIA was filed this week for Hansen’s records so it will be quite a year for James and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him get arrested after chaining himself to a fence at some coal plant before the end of the year. lol

      • BioBob says:

        LOL

If ever there would be a valid reason to fire a fed employee, a power plant scene would be it. but somehow I think hansens self preservation instincts would kick in at some point. he has got to be sweating now.

      • Paul H says:

I still believe Hansen has many powerful friends in high places.

There can be no other explanation as to how he got the job in the first place as he was a total nonentity at the time.

GISS’s boss who retired when Hansen took over did not believe in global warming , so he definitely would not have recommended him.

      • BioBob says:

Something is up — this smells like a conspiracy to me …..a noisy FOI thang ….hansen on a trip where you know he is going to mouth off, …. then an editorial……
