A Pointless Superstition

The catastrophic global warming religion is based entirely on faith in the output of climate models – which have demonstrated no skill.

But even if you believe the climate models, they tell you that the token actions being proposed don’t make a significant difference in the end result.

The whole CAGW belief system is wildly irrational, from one end to the other. Which explains why the White House is completely vested in it.

And a whole bunch of other people!!!!

Keep any warmist talking long enough and he/she will admit that even if the whole CAGW thing is a hoax , which it is, we should still pursue the goals of the warmists’ because we would be doing the right thing for the environment and or social justice.

  3. Robert of Ottawa says:

“Invested in it” is a good phrase. Another excuse to loot the US treasury.

  4. Andy Weiss says:

This is a situation where supposed experts are telling us how to think and what to do about fabricated prolems with climate, to the tune of many trillions of dollars.

Then you are told that Big Brother knows best and that you are stupid and insensitive for not buying into it, even if nothing extraordinary is happening in the real world. It’s more Orwellian than Orwell could conceive.

It’s important to note that we didn’t arrive at this conclusion lightly. Every opportunity has been given to this cornball theory for many years. We have respectfully examined every lunatic explanation and rationalization. The idea has been examined against the evidence and where confirmation could be found, that was accepted. But for me, as time went on, the certainty that this is a crackpot cult came into focus.

We need to ridicule it for what it is. This is the way to slay this dragon. The respect we’ve shown has just allowed the cult to feign credibility.

Now these are some pointed models, with, I am sure, a great dealof skill, that surely cause a great deal of global warming.

“But even if you believe the climate models, they tell you that the token actions being proposed don’t make a significant difference in the end result.”

I would like to add that according to the following study global warming is “irreversible for 1,000 years after emissions stop.” ;O) We are wasting our time trying to reduce what is inevitable – co2 output by man. There is NO ESCAPING IT! What happened after Kyoto? Co2 continued its upward rise. What happened after Copenhagen? Co2 continued its upward rise. Let’s stop the pretence and realise that the Western world will NEVER give up any of its comforts to reduce co2 by 1 iota.

    rant off/

based on paleodata too. Not just models.

And even without the models we’d have a problem – CO2 is still soaring outside normal variation so we can’t say “it’s safe, it’s happened before, we lived through it”. Because we haven’t lived through it.

With the models sensitivity remains uncertain. Without the models even the forcing would be uncertain.
