“Texas temperatures are going up pretty much like the earth’s temperatures are,” North said. “Generally speaking, the global average temperature changes about the same as in Texas, so it is probably going to be warmer in Texas in the next 50 to 100 years. Last summer was a really hot summer, and while I say that is a fluctuation, it does probably indicate things that we might expect in the next 20 or 30 years. And what you can expect in the next 50 years is that the heat we experienced last summer is going to be the average summer temperature.”

In that case, the world has nothing to worry about. Texas shows no warming since the start of NCDC records, and has cooled dramatically since the 1998 El Nino.

Texas is running well below normal in 2011.

the caption atop the first 2 graphs says “some of the data has not been quality controlled”
can we assume once they do “quality control” the data, we’ll see a nice uptrend?
That data is already upwards adjusted.
I’m sure people at the Super Bowl thought Texas is warming up.
Must be terrible in Texas right now.
From S. Fred Singer: “To rent a 26-foot truck one-way from San Francisco to Austin costs $3236, and yet the one-way charge for that same truck from Austin to San Francisco is just $399.”
I like it when people vote with their feet.
There is nothing new in any of this. General Philip Henry Sheridan around 1875 said;
“If I owned Texas and Hell, I would rent out Texas and live in Hell!”
So over 135 years ago Texas was well known for its Hellish weather…
But now…. well it seems Texas is not so hot now.
Unfortunately those people are liberal progressives and will make Texas into another California just as the Progressives escaping from a liberal government and high taxes in Tassachusetts turned right around and are making NH another liberal Hell hole. (I just had friends visiting from NH who are moving to the mountains of NC to escape the Progressives.)
Progressives will try the same failed policies over and over and over and never learn. The first “Thanksgiving” was not so much a celebration as it was the last meal of condemned men.
However this lesson is NEVER EVER taught in US government schools!
lol, nice spankage of an idiot climatologist.
It’d be ironic if Dessler used the term “denier”
I’m looking at a job in San Antonio. Checked the crime stats. The place is under seige. (It’s not that far from the border) I’ll probably go anyway. But I’ve got concerns about power outages.
Thanks for the heads up, Bruce. Guess I’ll just drive the car down and buy furniture after I arrive.
I live about 10,000 miles from Texas, so don’t count me an expert.
Having lived my entire life (48 years) in central Texas, summer 2010 wasn’t that bad. So I don’t know what this Aggie is thinking.
Anyone familiar with the NAS panel evaluation of MBH1998 and the Infamous Hockey Stick will be familiar with the Name Gerald North and his testimony before Congress! He is also an associate of Dressler so they are on the same team and well established in the CLB! Being Aggies they probably think this Winter was the warmest Winter Texas has ever had!
Gerald North claimed publicly MBH was right and before Congress agreed with the results from Wegman that the paper was bad.
Much to do about nothing.
