new madrid was also famouse for predictions made by dr. browning, who as it turns out was on par with hansen in the prediction department…….even though he didnt have a climate model.

if he would have gotten into the global warming scare he would have gone down as the greatest climatologist ever.

    Hmmm.
    Same thing in 1908:
    “THE EARTHQUAKE IN ITALY.
A STUPENDOUS DEATS ROLL. TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND KILLED.
    DREADFUL SUFFERINGS OF SURVIVORS
    FIGHTING WITH KNIVES FOR FOOD.
    LONDON, December 31.
Prior to the earthquake on Monday, which caused such widespread damage throughout Calabria and Sicily, there was a brilliant aurora borealis. Then the sea withdrew from both coasts in the Straits of Messina, and gathered in the centre. An enormous wave then swept both coasts.”
