    Could excess rain in aquifers build enough pressure to trigger an earthquake?

    It was al the SUVs and Pickup trucks driven by the Texas Oil Men that caused the Arctic ice to melt that relieved to pressure on that fault line so it could slip.
    The earthquake was probably due to the water breaking through the entrapment rather than the release of water being the result of the earthquake. There are still mountain lakes just waiting for an opportunity to escape captivity and when they do the earth will tend to Quake. Lake Tahoe comes to mind.
