Arctic Basin Full Of Thick Ice In 2011

Lots of hysterical nonsense being reported this month about record low levels of “Arctic” ice. Note that northern hemisphere ice extent (black line above) is greater than 2005 and 2006 – the two years with the highest summer minimums in the DMI record.

In the third dimension, average ice thickness has increased by 25% in the region shown below since 2008.

Steve, keep the articles coming!! I’m so glad Al G invented the internet LOL also it’s nice seeing some new names in the comments

  2. Andy Weiss says:

We aren’t doomed afterall!! The lack of a carbon tax has not destroyed our planet as many predicted.

Be careful, somewhere there is a climate scientist running a model that will show how thick, multi-year ice is a sign of a death spiral.

      • Al Gored says:

Well of course! It seems beyond debate that the warmice produced by the warmcold would be thicker because the missing heat causes it to expand.

It is only held down now by the weight of polar bears, and they are getting skinny and just about to go extinct any minute now. Once they are gone there will be icequakes and a catastrophic rise in seaice levels at it expands further.

So don’t be fooled. This is bad, very bad. Everything is.

      • glacierman says:

        Yes,
Warmice..it is worse than we though. I failed to calculate how much the expansion of the ice would cause it to breakup because of the trapped heat that generated it.
