Mayor Hopes To Stop The Climate From Changing

Maybe they can stop earthquakes and volcanoes too?

ANGELES CITY – Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan has called on for a continuous campaign to protect the environment and reverse global warming.

Thousands of cities, towns, and landmarks around the world switched off lights in observance of the Earth Hour.

“When we turn off our lights, let us use it is as an opportunity to reflect about what we can do to contribute in fighting climate change,” Pamintuan said.

Pamintuan stressed that the message of the event is really a long-term call against global warming.

“We may not be able to solve climate change overnight, but each step we do makes a difference,” the mayor added.

This is a rally against climate change,” she said.

and doing this totally screws up their grid…………..

Did not the late King Canute try something similar?

  3. Paul H says:

Actually do we really know she said all this?

According to the article what she actually said was ““Sana ay ipagpatuloy natin itong mga ganitong programa para mapangalagaan natin ang kalikasan,”

From my working knowlege of Philipino I think this means “Ouch! My bloody toe! Who turned the blasted lights off in here?” or words to that effect.

  4. Andy Weiss says:

Why not have everyone spit into the wind? The added H2O will contibute much to preventing climate change-more clouds, more rain, cooler temperatures.

  5. Old Goat says:

All these weird people clearly have a “bonkers” gene which remains dormant in their skulls until triggered by key words (or phrases) like “climate change”, “global warming”, “power station”, “Mann” or “Gore”.

Once fired, this gene rapidly infects the thought processes, and switches the unfortunate victim into hopeless lunacy mode.

There is no antidote, other than a series of electric shocks to the head, which will be insufficient if merely powered by wind-turbines or solar panels.

Thus there is an innate necessity for those affected to reduce the efficacy of traditional power generation, in order to facilitate self-preservation, hence their driven encouragement of the proliferation of wind farms.

Mr. Huhne has been so affected, probably initiated by association with a lesbian.

Does anyone else think turning off the lights for one hour is totally inappropriate and insensitive when people in Japan are freezing and going hungry because they have no power?

I do. People have literally died in an effort to live as we do. And now, people in Japan are in peril because they can’t have the luxury of electricity.
