The guy failed to mention the equal chance of up to 20% increase in runoff in the watershed areas feeding those rivers also. What we have experienced in our short time monitoring the west water sheds is about middle ground between extremes as both wetter periods and dryer periods are evident in biological and geological records.
There is obviously no short term problem.
Droughts are a recurring phenomena and sooner or later there is bound to be another, just as we have had them in the past. So this guy isn’t saying anything meaningful, whether there is climate change or not.
I would say there is a short term problem since current droughts that we regularly experience underscore how we are using all the water available. Since droughts occur regularly without any reference to global warming/climate change, we have a problem now that needs to be addressed.
