These morons now believe that local CO2 generation directly harms people. WTF are these people smoking?
An environmental justice group which has won a court ruling on Thursday said California’s entire landmark climate change law may be put on hold after talks with regulators broke down.
The suit threatens the most aggressive climate change policy in the nation, California’s 2006 omnibus law which covers vehicle pollution, generation of clean energy such as solar and wind, and even building policy as well as a carbon market, which is the core of the court case. Fans and foes of attempts to stop global warming around the globe are watching California’s efforts.
The fate of the law, including the outlook for new vehicle fuel standards and clean energy targets, is still in the hands of a San Francisco judge who has asked the environmental group to draft a detailed order. The state says it will appeal.
A market for greenhouse gases called cap-and-trade is due to begin on January 1, 2012, but the initial March 18 ruling has led some to believe it may be delayed.
The Association of Irritated Residents who brought the case fear the oldest, highest polluting facilities in California could continue or increase their pollution, harming the least affluent parts of the state even if better-off areas prosper.
I’m not sure I’m buying that most Californians voted to keep this stupid law. Even in the land of fruits and nuts, I don’t think there are quite so many fruits and nuts.
Yes, they’re imbeciles, but it would be some delicious irony if they would be the cause to stopping the law.
They want a life totally without any risk or harm but don’t seem to have the brains to realize that this will lead to jobs fleeing the state at an alarming rate.
If I was a major employer there I would have announced the day after AB32 was upheld that I was closing down immediately and the green BS was to blame. All employees are welcome to come with us to the new location.
And I would take great pleasure in doing this.
Despite the huge influx of immigration, California did not gain any seats in the US House of Representatives for the first time in history. So, some of the more affluent people are leaving for some place else. Probably many are fed up with all the feel good, time and money consuming Mickey Mouse regulations.
The problem is worse that people outside California know. It seems that 1/3 of the population here is now illegal immigrants. (It may just seem that way and they are only 1/4) I don’t know how the problem will be solved. I can only see that they will be given amnesty. They will probably have to pay something like $100.00 for paperwork, or some other light fee. The funny thing is I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a Republican President that signs the amnesty Bill since it was a Republican that signed the amnesty Bill the last time, Reagan.

Very interesting , Amino.
Tony D is always blithering on about how we trust the scientific authorities. Perhaps he would like to comment on the sacking of Professor Enstrom by UCLA, which was clearly politically motivated.
Let us just sell California to the highest bidder and be done with it. They and a few other states have crapped on the US Constitution anyway and should at least be expelled.
This would set a wonderful precedent for the other states to get their fiscal houses in order and to respect the Constitution that so many died for.
We could build a gigantic fence along the eastern border, a Great Wall of California and John Carpenter could film his next movie from the inside. The plot would have Kurt Russell leading the few remaining sane people in: Escape from
MexiforniaChinafornia.
