Your headline should have been something like: “Romm equates Orr (and perhaps himself) to Lincoln, Hoover and Churchill”
Dunno about warming, but his hubris certainly continues unabated.
“Happy talk” was not the approach taken by Lincoln confronting slavery..
Hmm. Just re-read the Gettysburg Address – can’t find any reference to slavery in there.
Lincoln assumed the presidency in March 1861. The Emancipation Proclamation was signed on 1 January 1863. The Proclamation did not cover the nearly 500,000 slaves in the slave-holding border states of Missouri, Kentucky, Maryland or Delaware, which were Union states.
That’s “confronting slavery” for you.
Anybody with any crazy idea can claim to be a “visionary”. Karl Marx didn’t engage in “happy talk” when confronting capitalism. That is the most apt comparison to the AGW folks.
Jim Jones did not engage in “Happy Talk” either and that is who comes to mind when looking for a similar historical reference to the current Hacks!
