This guy is trying to blame a volcano in Antarctica on the melting ice above it …. sort of like blaming the heat in the barbecue on the steak being cooked.
Accelerated melting of glacial ice decreases the load on the Earth’s crust, thereby decreasing the pressure holding volcanic conduits closed. Already, we are seeing evidence of new volcanic activity in Antarctica. A new, previously unknown volcano has appeared on the sea bottom in waters off the Antarctic Peninsula, in an area with no previous record of volcanic activity.
How long will it take the reputation of science to recover from this lunacy?

They discovered an unknown Volcano in a region that was formed by volcano activity. Last I heard the Antarctic Peninsula is a ridge of Volcanoes. If Volcano vents exist on the ocean floor miles deep then a little bit of ice will not restrict the geothermal activity. However this idiot is not the first lunatic to propose such a fantasy.
Remember that CO2 causes the weight of the ocean floor to change and causes more plate movement. The Himalayas are growing because of the glacial retreat caused by more CO2 in the atmosphere. Sea shells that formed in 3000 parts per million can not form in 400 parts per million.
As long as scientific organizations support trash like this science will not recover, it will drift out of society along side palmistry and palm reading. Scientists will be converting old houses into places of business and hang a sign with a beaker, rock, cloud, or fire to represent their specialty and will be licensed just like Madame Sophie! They may even have to register with the legal authorities and have restrictions where they can do business.
You apparently find this connection between glacier retreat and volcanism unlikely. Ok, that makes sense as an emotional reaction. But what about looking at the numerical results? That might be difficult with this reference since there is no information there, just vague references to other sources. This isn’t a scientific source so I don’t think you need to worry about sullied scientific reputation.

The earth’s crust floats on the magma layer. When the climate cools, the crust cools and contracts; rifts widen in the crust, allowing magma to rise at plate boundaries. Think of the earth as an egg, except the shell of the earth is much thinner relative to its diameter than the egg shell is to the egg’s diameter.

This resolution does not address the situation of a child born on US soil and it is specific to John McCain. Notice that there is no explicit requirement within the statement about both parents, just the narrator. Also, this is a non-binding resolution, not a finding of a court. The definition of “natural born” has never been decided in a court of law.

It looks like the Founding Fathers really did intend that both parents must be born in the USA for someone to be eligible to be President. They had to except anyone alive at the time of the writing of the Constitution for obvious, and simple reasons.
So if this issue rises to the level of the mainstream it will be a serious problem for the United States. It’s something people won’t be able to act like it isn’t there and move on. I can imagine Congress would adopt a resolution that would allow Barack Obama to stay in office, an exception since his election already took place, but would limit his powers, a censure. Because I think they won’t remove him as President. And I don’t think the American people would require it either.
What also could happen, again, if this issue gets into the mainstream, is Obama may resign to save an awkward situation. That would probably the way to avoid offense with Democrats and African-American people. Him being the bigger person could be the only way to keep peace over it in America.
What I hope DOES NOT happen is a political war on tv every day that could lead to riots, which is a possibility.

The constitutional conventions were very cautious in making the presidency very special, since the powers of that office are so special. So they were careful to guard against dual loyalties. They also set older age limits, so that a candidate would have the benefit of maturity, since the office had so much concentrated power.
Everything in this careful deliberation process was to make sure that there was a balance of power, and that balance was further tempered by hedging toward having sanguine individuals be able to ascend to key positions.
Yes, this is a problematic issue. A genuine constitutional crisis. But IMO the media will be successful in keeping a lid on this. They have been key actors in keeping true constitutional scholars off the Supreme Court, for example (hence the word “Borking” that describes that crafty methodology).
If Clinton could not be impeached for lying to Congress, and then directly to the American people, how could this issue be any different in result?
What could have been the saddest chapter of Robert Bork being ‘borked’ is that Ronald Reagan didn’t do enough to help him. Ted Kennedy cut him to ribbons. “What Would Reagan Do?” Apparently, watch it happen.
