First we find out that Pikas are doomed from global warming. Now the Marmots are doomed from global cooling.

Hundreds of Vancouver Island marmots are awakening from their winter hibernation to find their burrows – and the grass that is their sustenance – covered by deep snow.

“There is a tremendous amount of snow,” said Viki Jackson, executive director of the Marmot Recovery Foundation.

    Towards the other bit of information…….. I’m not sure, but I’d have to say what we’re witnessing is a confluence of warmcold and drywet! Someone should inform Dr. Symes! I’m sure he’d be very excited about this observed dynamic!
