A team of international scientists has unveiled a new report warning that rapidly increasing climate change could raise global sea levels up to five feet, three inches by 2100. The Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Programme says temperatures in the Arctic are the warmest ever recorded, putting the region’s ice caps and glaciers, as well as the Greenland Ice Sheet, at risk of melting. Study co-author Dorthe Dahl-Jensen of the University of Copenhagen warned the rising sea levels could threaten coastal areas worldwide.
Disrupting the Borg is expensive and time consuming!

I’m flummoxed. The just out UofC sea level data indicates a drop to 1.6 mm/year (look at 60 day smoothing line) from about 2003.

This is about half the 3.1 mm long term trend.
Does it make any great deal of difference if the Arctic goes from, say -65 to -61??? There HAS to be some melting or else we would go back to the Ice Age. It melts…it freezes…it melts….it freezes. I believe many people think the ice never melts and it’s that way year round.
” I believe many people think the ice never melts and it’s that way year round.”
Many do. They really think that massive Ice Sheets that never melt are normal and have always been there and are necessary for human life.
It is appalling.
