J S has not been making comments about these historic weather conditions in her area of expertise. Could they have been considered “Outliers” during data compilation so were ignored. They claim to have taken anecdotal evidence into account but maybe researchers on location are not considered reliable. There is always the possibility that with the proper smoothing these incidents were smoothed into the long term average.
We also have learned that what happened in the past was weather but recent events are climate related.
Before recently climate was based on weather but with the forming of the IPCC it seems that weather is now based on climate.
