“You know, I understand we’re on our way to being a third-world country, could we just stop at second-world before we get there?” Maher said. “Why doesn’t he point to this and say this is all because of climate change. He doesn’t seem to use what he has to make a case. I don’t hear the Democratic case being made. That’s my point.”
He also said a few weeks ago that tornadoes never used to do much damage.
“we used to hear about tornados that were a few hundred yards wide. This ran 300 miles. They used to just touch down.”
“This is global warming,” Maher declared. “This is global warming – there’s more moisture – it’s what scientist always said. There’s more moisture in the atmosphere. It’s going to cause these giant disasters.”

March 18, 1925 – a large tornado tore through Missouri, Illinois, and Indiana, killing 695 people over 3.5 hours on its 219-mile path. The Tri-State Tornado was not the only tornado on this day; several other tornadoes were reported in the region, bringing the total death toll to some 750 or more, and leaving over 2000 people injured.

With the instant resource of the internet, there is no excuse for the media not to do the same research that Steven does in digging up past extreme weather events. As a media figure, Bill Maher and his ilk bear more responsibility for due diligence than the average citizen for their voiced opinions. Where in a citizen, Maher’s pronouncement might be considered as “mistaken”, the much higher standard of accountability in a media figure renders Maher’s statement as egregiously mendacious. I suppose the shear nobility of their cause licenses some of these warmist types to bend the truth. White lies in service of the just cause. We just have to relentlessly keep calling the weasels out.
Google is tricky. You have to know how to type – with only three or four misspellings permitted per word.
You also have to have the knowledge of how to power up a computer. Quite important.
The more I read the more the “celebrities” seem to not have that talent.
The cost of freedom is eternal vigilance. ——- There will always be some that fall victim to noble cause corruption, and then there are others of worse character.
Most of these talking heads are just reading off a tele prompter what they or someone else wrote. There is little ad-lib even in interview situations. Chicken Little only says what supports his claims the sky is falling and they tend to exaggerate those claims!
I have always looked at Maher and thought this guy needs to get some sleep. At times he is funny but the value prop of watching him became negative for me a long time ago. Even before he became a scientist wannabe
I watch Maher every week (on demand replay), usually I make it thru the whole show.
But sometimes these liberals (Jon stewart included), just get so, worried?, that they are losing their control of the message, that they go crazy. So I hit the stop button 🙂
This should be filed under comedy. Because Maher does not know how to be serious – or even accurate. His comedy stinks, but that is his best schtick.
