Palin E-Mails Show That She Is No Michael Mann

What happened to the left-wing outrage about East Anglia E-mails?

Oops, they did it again.

In yet another attempt to embarrass and humiliate Sarah Palin, the mainstream has fallen into a trap that they deliberately set for the former Alaska governor.

On Friday, 24,000 emails were revealed from Palin’s time in the governor’s office to an all too anxious media, licking their chops at the prospect of discovering some juicy detail that could tarnish or — better yet — destroy her. The requested emails resulted from a Freedom of Information Request that the media filed years ago.

But rather than find some salacious exchange, the emails revealed a warm, likeable executive who worked hard, focused on Alaska as priority No. 1, relied on her husband for guidance, and who has savvy political instincts. As one Los Angeles Times columnist put it: the email dump was “annoyingly gaffe free.”

Instead of gotcha moments or lewd pictures like the ones we typically see these days, Palin’s correspondence revealed someone who was bi-partisan in nature (Palin was open to meeting then-Sen. Barack Obama’s chief of staff and even praised Obama’s ideas on energy), a clever Mama Grizzly who baked brownies to diffuse a fight over a football rivalry, and a woman of deep faith. National Journal reported on Palin’s prayer for God’s guidance on Alaska’s budget in what it featured as the top 10 “revelations.”

They tried their best to hype this up…
    …look over here at Palin

    Don’t look at Weiner

“Weiner Disgrace Shows Power of New Media”

…..There is a lesson here for anyone who has a few spare minutes a day and wants to have an impact on civic life in America: online activism works……Obama is trying to reposition himself as a centrist while he continues to pursue truly radical policies. A compliant media is enabling him. New media activists are his Achilles heel…….activists can go over the heads of the mainstream media and speak directly to American citizens…… The White House understands the threat, and has responded by adding a full-time staffer…… Jesse Lee, is officially titled “Director of Progressive Media & Online Response.” In practice, his job is to coordinate the left-wing, Soros-funded echo chamber to support the president and minimize conservative online voices…….Lee is married to one of MoveOn.org’s top staffers……..

imagine Palin and Bachmann running together in 2012…

    • Amino Acids in Meteorites says:

That might be ok, be it should be Bachmann first, that is, Bachmann/Palin, not Palin/Bachmann. I still don’t see why she dropped out of being governor of Alaska. If there was too much heat for her as governor what would she do as President where the dial of pressure goes to 11, past 10?

    • That would send a tingle up my leg.

    • suyts says:

While I’d probably vote for that ticket, but it wouldn’t win. They’re too much alike and would carry the same base. One of them with either Cain or a conservative with good bonafides such as Pawlenty or Santorum would bring in more votes.

I just can’t get over how those two (Pawl and Sant) aren’t coming out with guns blazing. If either one did, they’d be shoe ins. But they’re so focused on not making a mistake they’re letting their chance slip away. My goodness!!! What’s wrong these people? This is for the President of the United States. Its like watching Fred Thompson part two!! This isn’t time to be hesitant. You can’t leave something on the plate! They need to understand that time is short and this is their only shot! I’d have smoked Romney on the Obamney care question!

    • suyts says:

Yep, there’s plenty to say about him, but he’s tough, smart and savvy.

  3. Andy WeissDC says:

Time Magazine has already annointed Romney as the Republican nominee, setting up the much anticipated Romney/Obama yawn fest. If Romney is ramrodded through, Palin ought to run as a 3rd party candidate. She might win, for all anyone knows.

    • Amino Acids in Meteorites says:

I hope it isn’t Romney. He feels like a slick lawyer to me. I don’t trust him. I’m not too high on Pawlenty either. My ticket, at this point, is Bachmann/Giuliani, Giuliani being the replaceable factor for whoever Bachmann would rather choose.

Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher don’t like the email sifting—even though they don’t like her:

    • suyts says:

No one in their right mind likes it. It shows how complicit our MSM is in the tank for the left agenda. If they’d spend half their energies keeping Obama to the fire, we might get somewhere, and they won’t allow that to happen. The funny part of this story, as AT points out in the article, is that it exposes the media for what they are. Nothing but paid propagandists for the left.

      • Latitude says:

        Personally, I’m in shock…….and awe
I would have expected something, even the smallest tiny little bit….that they could blow up

That fact that they went through years of emails and found nothing…
…she might be the last decent politician out there

      • Amino Acids in Meteorites says:

        Don’t forget Michele Bachmann.

      • suyts says:

I can only echo that…… of course, the left will still cry about some omissions and redactions, but 24,000 and nothing? She won big in that one!

      • Latitude says:

        Think about it….
        24,000 emails, over years….
…and not one thing, not even a cuss word because she mashed her finger….
…nothing, nada, zippo that they could even try and blow up

Jon Stewart satire on the Palin emails. He thinks it’s funny so much attention is paid to her.

Jon Stewart satire on the media frenzy over the yawner Palin emails, is funnier than you might think:

Thomas Sowell likes Pawlenty, says Romney will be pulled down by RomneyCare:

Tim Pawlenty cites his track record to back up his statements. That includes reducing Ethanol subsidies when he was governor of Minnesota and cutting the growth of state government spending from just over 20 percent a year to under 2 percent a year.

    • Pawlenty put me to sleep. Ron Paul is totally unpresidential and arrogant.

      • Amino Acids in Meteorites says:

I don’t like Pawlenty either. My only choice is Bachmann. I’m not sure Sarah Palin is ready to be President. Ron Paul will be out quickly once the primaries start.

    • suyts says:

“Pawlenty put me to sleep. Ron Paul is totally unpresidential and arrogant.”
      ================================================
I agree. But, like AAM points out, he has the proven track record, is current on energy and climate, has core conservative stances…….. he’d be a win if someone could just light a fire in him. Another problem I think he suffers from is that he’s genuinely a nice guy. But he doesn’t have time for that. As far a Ron Paul goes…….geez why doesn’t he just run under the Libertarian party? He could learn something from Edmund Burke ——- “Liberty, too, must be limited in order to be possessed.”

  8. Amino Acids in Meteorites says:

Thomas Paine, Samuel Adams, Patrick Henry, and John Locke never became President. But their speeches and writings had a prominent effect on America. I see Sarah Palin like that.

  9. Orson Olson says:

I’m a lifelong atheist, but I’ve voted for Palin before and I expect to do so again. Her good judgement is close to unfailing.

Just google “palin drsanity” and link to the top hits.

Among the essays by this retired Prof of clinical psychiatry (University of Michigan Medical School) are “They Were for Palin Before They Were Against Here,” “The Let’s Firestorm of Projection About Palin” and “Hysteria and Histrionics With Post-Palin Paranoia.”

“Pat Santy, MD” isn’t just eye-opening – she is revelatory.
