SUPER EL NINO IN 2006-2007? We suggest that an El Nino is likely to originate in 2006 and that there is a good chance it will be a “super El Nino”, rivaling the 1983 and 1997-1998 El Ninos, which were successively labeled the “El Nino of the century” as they were of unprecedented strength in the previous 100 years (Fig. 1 of Fedorov and Philander 2000).

Based on subsurface ocean temperatures, the way these have progressed the past several months, and comparisons with development of prior El Niños, we believe that the system is moving toward a strong El Niño starting this summer. It’s not a sure bet, but it is probable.

“The Missouri River is flooding,” said Dr. James Hansen, Director of NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies, during a visit to Omaha on Tuesday. “We’ve had 100 years floods now a couple of times on the Missouri River recently. That’s one of the expected consequences of increasing atmospheric carbon dioxide.”
Disrupting the Borg is expensive and time consuming!

Warmist science excels especially when retro-predicting.
It never ceases to amaze me to observe some peoples’ obsession over seeing terror and tragedy around every corner.

What Hansen promotes now is not science, it is chicanery. He is a sad old duffer who should f-f-f-f
fade away. He is losing his marbles and that is not a pretty sight.
Oh lawks a’mercy! Preserve us from twerps and nincompoops.
Sundance,
Good one. We have “volta face”, “prima face” and now “palma face”.
I live in Kansas City.Sure there have been floods and droughts and normal weather all wrapped into the years I have lived here.50 years now.I have seen it all.
This years floods are due to big snow falls in the Montana mountain region and normal summer melting.
