.

They don’t need electricity. Obama’s global warming will keep them cozy all winter.

Over 350,000 households across Northern Ireland could be left in fuel poverty when Power NI increases prices by almost 20%, it has been warned.

With over 300,000 homes in Northern Ireland already struggling to pay for fuel, a leading consumer organisation said the price hike planned for October could spell disaster for an additional 50,000 homes across the province.

With 721,100 households in Northern Ireland, this means almost one in two homes will be in fuel poverty this winter.

At least 1,000 people die in Northern Ireland every winter from cold-related conditions, such as pneumonia, and the 18.6% increase is likely to make it even harder for people across the province to heat their homes.

Chief executive of the Consumer Council Antoinette McKeown said customers of Power NI will see their bills rise £92 a year to £588.

“Overall it will mean that the majority of households in Northern Ireland will have an energy bill of £2,114 per year,” she said.

In a sane world the people behind this madness would be held responsible for these things… but alas they never do.

And it’s such a serious crime that they’re perpetrating that the death penalty would be appropriate.

Humans are the expendable accessory to some politicians.

  10. John Marshall says:

Not just NI but the rest of the UK has increasing fuel poverty. All caused by a theory that does not hold water. The theory of greehhouse gas global warming that has never been shown to actually happen blamed on a gas that is vital for the life of the planet. All claims by the alarmist prophets are lies.

CO2 does not drive climate! It never has!

WE are not running short of fossil fuels! In fact there is more oil available today than 20 years ago it is greed and politics that keeps the price high. There is more coal globally today than 50 years ago much of it available through open cast mining not deep underground mines.

Today this UK Government is forcing fuel costs up to pay for useless renewable energy idiocy, trying to force us to change our cars from far travelling vehicles to battery cars that cost twice as much and only travel 40 miles. And these idiots ignore the enormous environmental impact of scrapping the batteries which have to be changed periodically at a cost of thousands.

“And these idiots ignore the enormous environmental impact of scrapping the batteries which have to be changed periodically at a cost of thousands.”

Exactly. They cannot (will not?) see the forest for the trees … all they see is that a car running on gasoline produces CO2. Since the electric car produces no CO2 when it drives, in their minds it must be better.

Write with incontravertable facts to your MP and complain. I do so on a regular basis and have at least elicited the confession that he believes there are now too many wind farms in D&G.
Having said that, he no longer replies to my polite yet insistent missives! Perhaps because he no longer has faith in the warmist religion?

  11. Doug Proctor says:

A thousand people die each year from cold related illnesses like pneumonia? Pneumonia is bacterial, related to overall health and/or stress. Cold weakens the system if chronic, but with enough clothes and blankets you don’t die from cold, otherwise the Inuit would not exist.

This statement is another simple-minded (formerly the word was “retarded”) connection between temperature and disaster. Only the poorest of the poor in First and Second world countries freeze to death.

Sounds like “alarmist” speaking from the skeptical side.
