Leading Hydrologist James Hansen Blames Missouri River Flood On CO2

“The Missouri River is flooding,” said Dr. James Hansen, Director of NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies, during a visit to Omaha on Tuesday. “We’ve had 100 years floods now a couple of times on the Missouri River recently. That’s one of the expected consequences of increasing atmospheric carbon dioxide.”

Hansen, who is considered by many to be one of the world’s leading experts on global warming, said the Missouri river is a prime example of how global warming is affecting the earth.

In other news, Hansen forecast a strong El Nino for this summer. Hansen has done no research on Missouri River floods, or how they relate to CO2. Why is he still employed by NASA?

Calling them 100 year floods confused him…………….

Supposed to be a “climate scientist” and says something that stupid

Stupid is as Stupid does! This link is worth clicking on as it is much more than Forrest Gump. President Dumbo is featured prominently and he mentions global warming too …

  3. Gator says:

I thought excessive rain caused floods.

  4. Brandon Caswell says:

The very fact that Hansen, Jones and Mann are still employed tells us how corrupt the system has become.

In the old days, being a data manipulater that couldn’t predict the sunrise, would assure you a pink slip, not catastrophic INCREASES in funding. How anyone can take climate science seriously anymore is beyond me. Until the real scientists start to actually speak out against the bad scientists and flimsy work, then the whole system is a failure and should be defunded.

This truly is a war against science, and these frauds are succeeding in destroying it. Why are so few scientists fighting to protect scientific integrity?

It truly is worse than we thought.

  5. Independent says:

For an astronomer, Hansen sure knows a lot about water flows in the Missouri River. Perhaps he read it in the stars that CO2 caused floods there?

Another thing I wonder: how does someone with ZERO expertise to comment about a certain phenomenon get quoted in an article on it? It’s like quoting me on the history of the Academy Awards or something.
