Meltwater On Mars

Welp, now the Russians will be opening up shipping channels year ’round in Mars (I heard that from a double-peer-reviewed ultra-mega-scientist (under strict conditions of anonymity, naturally)).
It’s worse than we thought!!
They took that picture at my place after the rain yesterday! I am having a bit of dozer work done on about 4 acres and that is what it looked like this morning.
Cool! Makes a lot of sense – we used to use brine to get temps as low as -20 C in the lab (then went to ethanol to get lower…as you do). It is self sealing as evaporation just crusts it over and the water stays liquid underneath.
Pictures of water flow go back about 15 years on some websites and back then NASA was mute on the subject.
It appears that whenever someone is more observant than NASA that they wait an inordinate amount of time and then TADAH!!!!!!!!!!!
Hence the irrelevance of NASA today :/
I have to excuse them for holding off for a while, they don’t have the best history of explaining things on Mars. The whole “face on Mars” nonsense was fuelled, at least in part, by their inability to just come out and say, “Y’all are a bunch of paranoid idiots. Please jump off of a bridge.”
