Heading for the Hills: Spanish Winemakers Adapt to Global Warming
Today, Torres is preparing once again for an uncertain future, not because of war but because of global warming, which is threatening his industry. This time, the investment isn’t across the ocean. It’s up the hill — a two-hour drive from the company’s headquarters in Vilafranca del Penedès, near Barcelona, into the foothills of the Pyrenees. There, on a high bluff brushed with pines and peppered with wild rosemary and thyme, swatches of ripening vineyards take advantage of the cool mountain air to produce grapes that would wilt under the Mediterranean heat of the lowlands. “We’re buying land even higher, in areas that are still too cold to plant,” says Torres.
Disrupting the Borg is expensive and time consuming!

Will Liverpool give Chelsea their money back for Torres?
Liverpool didn’t make any promises.
Torres is known as “El Niño”. Maybe they were insured against him.
May turn out to be a good investment if developed for skiing, snow boarding and other winter sports.
Yetis and snowballs are all they are going to grow.
Maybe he can make ice wine.
I’m trying to find the temp history for Barcelona…..
….anyone know where it is
It would be interesting to know what that region’s actual temperature history is. It’s always assumed by the LSM for the purpose of AGW propagand that it is universally warming everywhere.
They LSM tried to use this story for the American wine producers, but were told that actually wine production is thriving.

Preserved artifacts found in melting ice patches along the Rockies
Colorado Boulder researcher Craig Lee makes frequent trips during summer trekking for treasure and usually strikes gold. However, this time he has found a much more valuable find, 10,000 year old artifacts.
As global warming increases, icy tombs that preserved these artifacts are now melting and emerging from the ice. Pieces of animal remains, Native American baskets, and clothing are among the typical discoveries found from Lee’s frequent trips to the Rockies back in 2007. But his most significant find so far has been a wooden stick that happens to be a 10,000-year-old birch sapling. There has been a long process that took nearly 3 years to verify the artifacts. The weapon, called an atlatl dart, is rare because of its impeccable condition and age, Lee said.
It seems this bittersweet view into our past has come from the destructiveness of our inhabitants. Our environment is suffering, and yet this may be an extraordinary find, our global warming has evidently taking its toll.

and Lat says: imagine that, they hid their trash under the ice…………………..
I’m no climate scientist, but wouldn’t the fact that these artifacts are emerging from the melting ice suggest that the temperature of that locale was once much warmer, and further wouldn’t that suggest a cyclical phenomenon controls these warm and cold periods and not necessarily “the destructiveness of our inhabitants.” BTW was destructiveness are they refering to… melting ice?
……………………….facepalm
Joe, it means that they started counting ice loss…..when there was too much ice
Exactly!
To be fair, porverb says: It’s a sin to not seperate a fool from his money.
