The President and his supporters have determined that oil and coal are evil, and need to be shut down. Energy industries should oblige them with a voluntary shutdown three weeks ahead of the July 4th holiday. People don’t know what they have got – till it’s gone.

Good list, Latitude. And, yes “The First Gay President.” Newsweek presents this as a literal, as there is no suggestion that they are being facetious or jesting at all. Drudge recently highlighted O as a “metrosexual,” but with his dainty dancing, often effeminate gait, oddly too close encounters with male politicians, and now his failure to object to the Newsweek cover, I am inclined to believe at face value the statement of the Newsweek cover.
“Not that there’s anything wrong with that,” but a backlash is brewing in the black community against this: http://hotair.com/archives/2012/05/14/video-preachers-in-baltimore-blast-obama-for-same-sex-marriage-stance
By the way, more on the black reaction to the First Gay President, my hot air comment: From the mouth of the radical Van Jones in April:
It’s a laughing matter to Van Jones, but the Van Jones chuckle speaks of how fully the black vote is taken for granted. If this chuckle and the like is amplified in the minds of blacks, the seeds of a more serious black backlash are there.

Did Joni Mitchell and the rest of the green/left glitterati ever get around to eating their apples with spots on, as she undertook to do if farmers stopped using DDT?
I wonder if she accepts even a tiny portion of the blame for the 50 million deaths in the third world attributed to the baning of DDT for mosquito control?
