Just wow. Is that SOP for every record? How many decimal places out are they using? Surely you are missing something…..
If I did simple math like that, our lab accreditation would be revoked.
NWS near my home has the same problem. I checked April and found 7 instances. In May so far there are 5. But I found that it doesn’t effect the monthly departure. I went ahead and replaced the proper daily departure, did the math, and it still came out the same as listed on their monthly reports.
It is hyped a bit more than needed. Do i need to say that the average is not just the mean of max and min temperatures. In fact the average temperature could almost be anywhere between these two exstremes.

has an interesting anomaly under the DEPARTURE FROM NORMAL.
Apparently the minimum temperature’s departure from normal is too difficult to calculate (at 61-45) and therefore it is left blank, from this the Average of the Departure From Normal is (19+Blank)/2 = 18!
Neat trick – I wonder if the credit card company could follow this example.
