The unadjusted graph shows no warming since 1895, with the hottest July occurring in 1901. All of the claimed July warming is due to data manipulation.
GREAT HEAT IN AMERICA.
FARM WORK ALMOST ABANDONED. July 24, 1901
The heat in many of the states of America is again abnormally severe, and the sultry weather is having serious effects upon the health of the people. The shade temperature ranges from 105 deg. to 111 deg. Farm work has been largely abandoned. Vegetables are selling at fancy prices, and consequently poor people are living on canned fruit and vegetables, which are obtain- able at cheaper rates.London, July 25. Telegrams from New York state that owing to the abnormal heat 32 persons died at St. Louis on Tuesday and 40 on Wednesday. The prospects for the harvest in the western states are seriously affected owing to the heat shriveling up the grain.

Your figure 2 here is easily confirmed at the link you provided, but adjustments are talked about there in terms of the work of “Menne et al.”, 2009 and 2010. Did you download and use the Menne software to get your figure 1, or simply compare the figure 2 data with the raw data, presumably at your link, “Raw data us.txt.gz”. I have a troublesome 56K dialup connection, so I didn’t try either one.
I calculated it from the raw daily data.
