  1. kirkmyers says:

The AP story by Seth Borenstein story doesn’t surprise me. He is one of the chief propagandists for the global warming crowd. At the end of his scare story, he finally gets around to interviewing one skeptic, John Christy, who correctly identifies Mother Nature as the cause of the recent heat wave.

The state of journalism in this country is truly a disgrace. Borenstein is nothing more than a glorified stenographer for the sky-is-falling Hockey Stick groupies. He refuses to research the many facts that undermine and contradict the now-collapsing global warming theory. With every story he writes peddling the AGW scare, he diminishes his already tarnished reputation.

If Borenstein had done his homework, he would realize by now that the CO2-causes-warming theory is the product of manipulated climate models. There is no empircal evidence to support the theory that the burning of fossil fuels will cause runaway gobal warming. The theory itself ignores the primary role of water vapor, which is the source of 95 percent of the so-called greenhouse effect. Mankind’s portion of CO2 in the atmosphere is so small it’s barely measureable — the equivalent of a flea on an elephant’s ass.

More atmospheric CO2 would actually be good for the planet, especially for agricultural production. With CO2 levels at 390 ppm, earth is currently CO2 impoverished compared to previous geological periods.

If we want to cut hot air emissions, we can start with the anti-CO2 rants of Seth Borenstein and his cadre of fellow AGW true believers.

  2. johnmcguire says:

Well said kirkmyers , actualy though the proper term for them is fellow travelers as in part of the gang of socialists who want to destroy the US in its present form and recreate it as a state in a world government. That has been the scheme for more than fifty years and they are getting so close now that they are pouring on the destruction daily without care as to who knows it. There are a lot of cowardly sheep in this country who probably do not deserve the freedoms they enjoy because they will not lift one finger to fight for them in any manner. They just whine at their masters.

  3. bill gannon says:

Slightly off topic, but just as important. Robert Felix over at Ice Age Now has run two stories on record lows and ties in the past week. Also had a story about Michigan losing 90 per cent of it’s apple crop, and in the comments section there was a comment from a apple grower in Tennessee who had their fourth major lost in seven years. Funny how these type of stories never make it in to the news cycle.

    • johnmcguire says:

Back in Americas golden days stories such as apple losses were big news and big deals. I refer you to the devastating Armistace Day storm of November 11 1940 , that hit across the upper midwest and wiped out so many thousands ; possibly millions as no accurate count was ever made , of red delicious and northern spy apples trees that you could search some of the upper states and not find one living tree of those varieties the next spring. It was big news. This is far from the first time the Michigan apple crop has been adversly affected. As an apple grower I commiserate with them and remind them the old farmers attitude , Lord willing there is next year.

    • kirkmyers says:

As Bill mentions above, earlier last week, there were record lows in many parts of the country, including along the Eastern Seaboard. Those records were studiously ignored by the mainstream media. Then the heat wave set in, and the newspapers and talking heads went into overtime warning the masses of impending global warming doom. It’s the same scare story we’ve seen repeated a thousand times by ignorant and irretrievably lazy media pundits, who now serve as willing emissiaries (or simply dupes) of the AGW movement and its anti-capitalist Green ideology.

There is a growing body of scientific evidence that thoroughly discredits the AGW theiory. But as AGW evangelists, the mainstream media are simply not interested. They are on crusade to save the planet. Why let facts and scienfic evidence get in the way of a good story chronicling the heroic battle of science against the “climate change deniers” and their alliance with the nefarious CO2 polluters?

The global warming scare is childish nonsense, but it makes for a good story.

      • rw says:

Just goes to show the degree to which this is all being done in bad faith.

I will have to read more about the European Witch Craze. I recall reading somewhere, I think it was in Huizinga’s The Waning of the Middle Ages, that most of the people at that time knew that it was nonsense – or at least OTT. Yet it went on and on, until it burnt itself out (literally as well as figuratively). Given that historical precedent, I think we can expect a lot more of this BS before it all cools down (ditto).

  4. Lou says:

It could have been a lot worse… check this out – http://www.earthfiles.com/news.php?ID=1986&category=Science What the heck happened 12,000 years ago?

  5. Russell C says:

Guys….. ye MUST believe: AIR DATE: July 2, 2012 What’s Causing Unusually Hot Temperatures in U.S.? http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/weather/july-dec12/climate_07-02.html

KEVIN TRENBERTH: ” … there is no parallel to this. We’re now breaking records….
JUDY WOODRUFF: And when you say — you used the term no parallel. You literally meant that? KEVIN TRENBERTH: I don’t think there has been anything quite like this before.

  6. Eric Simpson says:

Supposed conservative Drudge is in the same boat with leftist Eugene Robinson.
Why doesn’t Drudge get it, why the gwarming issue is extremely important to conservatives? The issue is key because not only were most conservatives duped on AGW for years by the leftists, but gwarming serves as the sole justification for most of O’s war on energy, on drilling, pipelines, coal, shale, fracking, affordable electricity rates.
And why doesn’t Drudge see that only 19% of Repubs believe in man-made global warming (Pew poll)? Drudge, why not trumpet the point that the lib msm is ignoring simultaneous record breaking cold that is occurring right now in many parts of country? Why not point out the hockey stick, the sole indicator that there is anything unusual about current temperatures, has been shown to be little more than a bogus fabrication of the leftist Berkeley grad Michael Mann. Why not trumpet the fact that the ipcc claim of a causal correlation between temps & CO2 has also been proven to be a lie; yes, Drudge, trumpet that by linking to this key 3 minute video that exposes Al Gore for repeating the ipcc bullshit on CO2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WK_WyvfcJyg
Drudge can no longer claim to represent mainstream conservatives. Drudge would probably make a point that he “flies over” those conservatives anyway. Right, Drudge, you are the pitchman for the eastern elitist Republican in name only. Drudge, prove that you’re not just a liberal Drudge.

  7. Ted says:

During the fire season here in SW Australia I work in fire surveillance, my job is to spot and report fires as they start. In the region in which I work we had at least 35 lightning caused fires in the 2011/2012 season. I am also a student of fire history and have no reason to believe that the recent spate of lightning caused fires is anything unusual. What has changed is our ability to control wildfires.
