July 24, 1936 – Hottest Day In Kansas History

The hottest temperature this month in McPherson was 108 degrees, nine degrees cooler than 1936. Experts tell us that 2012 heatwave is comparable to the 1930s – because they are completely incompetent.

    I was an undergraduate student in Pittsburg, Kansas in 1956-1959.

    One of those summers we had three or four successive days of temperatures in the range of 113-118 (as I recall from memory, ~65 years later)
