Apparently the Earth ended in 2000
The graph is mislabelled. The upper one is Scenario C and the lower one is actual measurements.
Somebody ought to call them on that.
Great info, though it would also be useful if the start and end years for the data set were included in the title / description.

Very helpful, thanks! FWIW, I would append that to the article title; the data set and current title in and of themselves could indicate a much narrower data set, and I think the context would make the values more surprising, not less.
