Full Stupid At Huffington Post

You can`t make this stuff up

So why should we listen to Hansen as opposed to, say, Sen. James Inhofe or radio personality Rush Limbaugh? For starters, Inhofe and Limbaugh have absolutely no background in climate science. Their (inaccurate) assessments of global warming are based almost entirely on opinion, rather than fact.

Let’s compare this to Hansen:
B.A., & Ph.D. in Physics
M.S. in Astronomy

In other words, no background in climate science

Published for decades in peer-reviewed journals
Heads a premier institution for climate research

George W Bush headed the United States for eight years, and Huffington Post said he was incompetent. The argument is idiotic.

Second, while global warming deniers typically base their arguments on misinformation (“Hey! These are the same scientists who warned us there would be an ice age!”), Hansen’s work from thirty years ago is now quantifiably proving to be very accurate

His work from twenty years ago was a total bust, and I am pretty sure that Manhattan is not underwater.

Third, Hansen has the support of world-class experts, such as fellow climate guru Michael E. Mann

Another incompetent scientist agrees, and that seals the deal.

Neil Wagner: Global Warming Has Arrived: The Ultimate Unwanted Houseguest

If you only listen to people who agree with you, you are guaranteed to be ignorant.

Yep, just left Manhattan. Dry as a bone. Beautiful day, a little cooler than average. People out enjoying a 6th Av. street fair. Totally oblivious to their impending doom.

‘Hansen’s work from thirty years ago is now quantifiably proving to be very accurate’ is code for:
I better not write: ”Hansen’s work from thirty years ago HAS PROVEN to be very accurate’.

Laughably, Wagner is a cartoonist. I got him to comment back in the comment section once….. right before HuffPo blocked me from commenting.

  3. Geoff Brown says:

I have used three of your posts (http://theclimatescepticsparty.blogspot.com.au/2012/08/charlatans-crushed.html) and mentioned both Senator Inhofe and the Huffington Post.

  4. gofer says:

There has to be some deep-seated sense of inadequacy when one has to validate themselves by such “drastic acts” of self-denial as turning off electronics, using a clothesline and going to a farmers market, all the while convincing yourself that you are “saving the planet.” How much less CO2 was generated by the Utility because of all their “frugality?” Feeeeellllllings…..nothing but feeeeelllinggs……

I wonder if they ever enjoy a beautiful day?

    Unpaid advertisement –

Huffington Post – The new authority in empathic and sympathetic publishing, helping to make YOU feel less guilty.

  6. Andy DC says:

We quote each other’s delusional, fraudulent BS to show the world how pretty, witty and wise we are!

  7. Eric Webb says:

“If you only listen to people that agree with you, you are guaranteed to be ignorant.” A very true statement, as this completely applies and describes the main mindset to the AGW clowns: block out anyone who disagrees with you, and keep saying the same lies over and over to make them seem true and to keep the funding going.

  8. Ray says:

I am having difficulty in assessing whether that blog article is serious or a joke.
Hansen is trusworthy because he is a grandfather????
    “•Grandfather (C’mon, what’s more trustworthy than a grampa?)”

  9. Dave N says:

Apparently HuffPo never heard of Lamb or Schneider.

“..are based almost entirely on opinion..”

“Hansen’s work from thirty years ago is now quantifiably proving to be very accurate..”

In Hansen’s (and presumably HuffPo’s) opinion. Reality shows otherwise.

  10. cdquarles says:

Hehe. I’d trust an article in the National Enquirer before I’d trust one from the HuffingandPuffington Post or the New York Slimes.

  11. philjourdan says:

Just goes to prove – you do not have to have a brain to write for Huffpo. Besides, where else in the civilized world do people willingly submit to slavery? Only at the Huffpo.
