Shock News : Top Cycling State Is Also The Thinnest

The bike trails here in Fort Collins are packed with commuters, and we are also the thinnest state.

By contrast, in Columbia, Maryland I spent 2-3 hours a day on high quality dedicated bike trails, and maybe saw a dozen other cyclists over a period of six months.

Ready for this one? Americans are fat. More accurate, Americans are still fat.

Mississippi is a miserable state. I have to drive to Florida several times each year, and try to change up my commute from time to time. I have been making this pilgrimage for two decades now, and only once did I try crossing Mississippi, never again. It makes Nebraska look like a paradise.

Haha gator , There are a lot of farmers and ranchers that think Nebraska is like paradise. I don’t know about Mississippi though . I met a taxidermist from there once and he did speak a form of english .

If you think the science behind CAGW is bad, you should look into nutritional science from the past 40 years (it’s seriously godawful). As a dedicated low-carb guy I feel pretty confident that obesity is going up simply because we’re trending away from eating fat and replacing it with carbs.

And I also feel pretty confident that people aren’t obese because they’re fat and lazy, they’re fat and lazy because they’re obese (due to a diet heavy in carbs). So I would guess that Colorado attracts people who are either still eating a decent amount of fat and not a lot of sugar or it attracts a lot of people who can metabolize sugar better than most. People in Colorado are active because they are thin, not because they have better will power than people in Mississippi.

I was recently gifted a classic 1976 Sears Free Spirit 10 speed in desperate need of repair. I fixed it up and have been cycling for just under 3 months. It’s like meditation on wheels for me.
