This Ice Doesn’t Exist

arctic.io – Arctic Terra – (2012/234)

When NSIDC declares a record minimum, it will be based on the fact that there is no ice in the picture above.

Polar Bears are being forced to ignore the several thousand ice floes near Alaska, because experts say that they don’t actually exist.

Let’s put a row boat full of alarmists in that ice free area and see how far they get.

The Healy is out there taking pics.

No ice found for as far as the eye can see.

Remember that “adjustment” they made just as the extent was about to cross the mean several months ago?

Check out the volume trend (very recently confirmed by CryoSat-2 vs. ICESat comparison):

Does anyone want to make a bet on the August datapoint that should arrive in a couple of weeks? I’d bet we’re going to see a new minimum.

…didn’t the climate sceptics say that the arctic sea ice will recover??…boy were they wrong!

    • Didn’t the climate alarmists say that the Arctic would be ice free? ?…boy were they wrong!

Which skeptics are you referring to?

Recovery from what and when Gondo.
It did after the MWP to a point that we now call that period the LIA. Caused a lot of human hardship that LIA period. (Despite popular belief, on average, homo sapiens does not cope well with cold and that will, most likely, be the reason why most of this race live in the warmer parts of this planet.)
It did after the big melt of the 1930’s to the point that we were all told in the 60’s and 70’s of the coming of the next ice age, man made this time.
      It did after 2007.
It seems that all those who predicted that the North would be ice free by now are wrong.
Will there ever be a year with less ice then this year, you bet.
Will there ever be a year with more ice then this year, absolutely.
      That will be 2013.
Can you call more ice next year a recovery? Depends on your expectations.

But what really interests me ‘Gondo, and I would appreciate your answers to the following as you are clearly knowledgeable in this field and I am just looking at numbers.

AGW is believed to have started in the late 70’s early 80’s, depending on who you talk to, yes/no?
CO2 has supposedly gone from 280 ppm in 1850 to 390 odd now and it is believed that all or at least most of this increase is caused by fossil fuel burning.
The temp movements from 1850 till it all started are seen as natural by those believed to be in the know, Mann Hansen etc, and over those 130 odd years including the ups and downs seen as pretty much unchanged by this same group of people.
Now, if CO2 is the big culprit would the temp not have started to rise, and continued to rise even with some fluctuations, from 1850 till AGW start up when the CO2 concentration was supposedly measured at 350 – 360 odd, an increase of around 25 to 30%?
Slowly at first and then speeding up perhaps? (Although that would fly in the face of the supposed, but verifiable, logarithmic warming properties of CO2, would it not?) Some undoubted fingerprint warming, anything?
Is that unreasonable to expect in light of certain theories at the moment?
AGW is caused by the extra 10% odd since 1978, so we are told.
So my dilemma is: 30% does nothing but 10% is catastrophic.
Tell me, Gondo or someone else, how does that work?
      Plain language please.

Name correct ? Not Gonzo ?

  7. Hmm, if we start counting sea ice in pixel instead of square miles things are really getting worse.
