USHCN “raw” monthly data shows that July, 1901 was the hottest month in US history – ahead of 1936 and third place 2012.
July of 1901 was a very hot month. Look at all the USHCN stations which were over 110 degrees on July 22, 1901. That day was much hotter than any day in 2012.

You don’t look at ‘raw’ data anyway. Not all stations are equally distributed so stations are given a specific weight based on how near they are to another station. For example, in 1901, you likely had 3 times as many stations in the East as you did out West. So, an equal heat wave out West versus the East would be heavily weighted more in the East.
You simply can’t just do a raw average of all the stations divided by the number of stations because in some cases you might have a dozen readings in a nearby location in spite of it being in the middle of a highly localized heat wave.
USHCN stations are intentionally distributed relatively evenly, and any weighting that is used has almost no effect on the final temperature. My averages comne out within a few hundredths of a degree of what they publish
You have no idea what you are talking about and have done no research, but you love to speculate boldly
No they aren’t:
http://cdiac.ornl.gov/epubs/ndp/ushcn/monthly_doc.html
That isn’t intentionally distributed evenly. It looks like you haven’t done the research.
NCDC reported that July was 77.6 degrees. Averaging all the USHCN monthly data gives 77.6 degrees.
How much adjustment is required to make 77.6 degrees equal 77.6 degrees?
Chery picking data much?
Why don’t you cite your sources and show your work? How do I know you’re just not picking one month that is equal instead of comparing them month after month?
If you say they are equal, then prove it. Show the data for all months and all years. Show your calculation. Show your data.
You want me to post the math for averaging several million temperature records?
I have published the code here and discussed it extensively. You are just another lazy moron who shows up and blusters without putting any thought or effort into checking the facts of what you are saying.

And another one bites the dust. citation of source : Queen
It is pure, uncontaminated data, unaffected by any nutcase agenda. That is far more than you can say at present.
At the very least it begs the question of why was it so hot back then? Same reason it is now — sometimes it’s hot, sometimes it’s not… why do we try and overcomplicate things?
