Only July 10, 1913 – Greenland Ranch, California reached 134F. It is now the official WMO hottest temperature ever recorded on Earth.
Hansen tells us that heatwaves like this are impossible without CO2 from your SUV.

How is global warming looking from the point of view of RECORDED temperatures? No interpolation, no models, just what the thermometers say.
People weren’t smart enough to read thermometers before Hansen
Check out one of the reasons the Al Azizia record was decertified … the thermometer was set over a tar covered surface. Now I believe that this UHI-style reason has validity – don’t get me wrong. But that would suggest that many temperatures over time should be adjusted slightly downward as the situations contributing UHI-style effects continually increase due to decreasing greenspace. I guess UHI was a problem in 1922, but humanity has solved that problem.
Good point.
“Only July 10, 1913 – Greenland Ranch, California reached 134F.”
I wonder what that 1913 Greenland Ranch record will be next year? 133, 132, 131…
Not to worry. NASA will place a boot on the neck of WMO to reverse this decision. Why?
“Of those three goals, Bolden said in a recent interview with al-Jazeera, the mission to reach out to Muslims is “perhaps foremost,” because it will help Islamic nations “feel good” about their scientific accomplishments.”

Looking at the temperatures as recorded in DV in that 1913 week, the 134 degrees F is certainly an outlier, an anomaly compared with those before and after. The statistical variance is ‘way out of whack. There must be something wrong with it. It too must be debunked. Who will be the first to get it thrown out too?
Whatever adjustments are required, like throwing out all temperatures prior to 2011, NOAA will manufacture the world’s hottest temperature during 2012, even if they have to torch the thermometer.
NASA Ames set up a thermometer at Badwater in Death Valley with the likely intent of capturing a new world record temperature. It’s badly sited and the sensor is probably affected by the solar panel that powers it.

New Study but we already know of course : ‘C3’ Conclusions: This Turkish study confirms what previous UHI effect studies have found: rural areas are not experiencing an increase in temperatures due to greenhouse gases. Because the dataset used to calculate global temperatures is dominated by urban and airport locations, overstating global warming has been the result. The UHI effect has never been adequately removed so as to provide an accurate picture of CO2-induced global warming. Simply put, to accurately determine actual global warming from greenhouse gases, only rural climate stations, based on the state-of-the-art USCRN technology and standards, should be used for the land surface global temperature dataset.http://www.c3headlines.com/2012/09/turkish-scientists-confirm-uhi-effect-is-overstating-global-warming-4-degree-uhi-impact-documented.html
I’ve probably read a half dozen studies that argue the same point now. However in the activist world none of these studies are apparently “valid” because they must have been written by researchers who are Deniers of Gaia. 🙂
Yes and here in Australia alarmists ignore it because they say it is a denier blog. They are so dumb err ignorant they not know how to search for the paper which is with the post lol.We have some face book pages and the trolls have gone quiet again for now.You folk are doing a great job! 🙂
To paraphrase another famous quote, you have to trash science in order to save it…
Very true!
