An Important Message From The UK’s Top Scientist

Antarctica is likely to be the world’s only habitable continent by the end of this century if global warming remains unchecked, the Government’s chief scientist, Professor Sir David King, said last week.

He said the Earth was entering the “first hot period” for 60 million years, when there was no ice on the planet and “the rest of the globe could not sustain human life”. The warning – one of the starkest delivered by a top scientist – comes as ministers decide next week whether to weaken measures to cut the pollution that causes climate change, even though Tony Blair last week described the situation as “very, very critical indeed”.

Why Antarctica will soon be the only place to live – literally – Environment – The Independent

Hopefully Sir David King loaded up Granny, Jethro, Ella Mae, and the hound dog and headed down to their ice-free survivalist home in -119F Antarctica.

For his sake, I sure hope he was higher than a kite on some really good sh*t, when he said that. How utterly insane.

That is hands-down the dumbest thing a person could say. That is industrial strength stupid! In fact, in all of the great historical articles that Steve displays I don’t think we have ever seen something that insane.

    (1) I notice that is a Wayback machine view of the story. Did the Independent scrub it?

    (2) Anyone seen the original source for the quote because the article (Geoffrey Lean, Environment Editor) uses traditional retarded reporter style obsfucation rather than explicit quotes and sources.

    (3) So what happened to this guy? Did the UK remove him or something? They should have.

Pardon the questions but that really is one for the books!

Time to buy that Antarctic beachfront property before it is too late!

now we have Paul Nurse another unqualified re climate saying similar drivel.
and i think? that quote was inspired by the other fool who said the last man and woman would end up down sth if humanity managed to survive at all,
same fella that recanted that recently…oops I goofed.
