My Favorite Appelation

Goddard happy to just get some hits in his old age

Quark Soup by David Appell: The CharlesH Problem

Now that is funny. Check out Appell’s bio

I have a B.S. in mathematics and physics from the University of New Mexico, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in physics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. I’ve also done graduate work in the creative writing department at Arizona State University.

While this pussy is avoiding staring at the less intelligent one in the picture, I’m out riding my bike 200 miles per week and playing competitive soccer against college kids several times a week. But it is worse than it seems. I have dogs  – and I hate cats.

    He’s go the BS down, that’s certain…

You know the old saying Steven , when you’re taking flak . If appell is against you it means you must be on the right track . By the way , you would like my wifes cat . It is stuffed and sitting on the refridgerator , doesn’t shed or stink but doesn’t do anything about the mice either . My wife is a highly skilled taxidermist with a multitude of strange and common animals and insects stuffed and mounted around the house and shop . She likes weird stuff , I don’t know what that says about me . 🙂

  3. johnmcguire says:

I imagine the various universities mentioned cringe when they realize they actually awarded that fruit cake appell those degrees .

  4. Andy DC says:

If you met Bubba and Gracie, you would love cats. I didn’t particularly like cats either until they came along.

  5. Andy DC says:

I would suggest that David should go on a diet and get in better shape. That is a nice way of saying that he is grossly and morbidly obese.

  6. MikeTheDenier says:

Cats make great soup. Just ask the Chinese if you doubt me.

    • johnmcguire says:

Hey , remember that french chef that lost his job due to references to cat eating during the last world war ? And when I lived in the california desert I saw very few cats in San Bernardino , but I ate some great tacos and burritoes from the lunch wagons . Come to think of it I saw very few dogs also , whatever , the chow was good . Hahahahahaha , get it ?

  7. John Greenfraud says:

Hey, lay off the cats. I will say that that guy next to the cat is a G.D. disgrace.

  8. dmmcmah says:

Wonder when he graduated. I have an MS in physics and BS in math from University of New Mexico. Don’t remember the dude. Maybe he wasn’t so fat back then.

  9. Jean Croton says:

    What happened to his face?

  10. David – I say this with concern – from what I can see you look fat and unhealthy. Don’t be lazy, get on a bike and do some exercise. Your mental health is of concern of course, but your physical health is important to.

  11. Glacierman says:

Maybe he is afraid to excerise because of all the excess CO2 he would be emitting. Like David always says…..”CO2 is some powerful stuff…

  12. Streetcred says:

With all of those degrees, how come he lacks the simplest education of all …. common sense ? Mind you, I’ve noticed this common trait in academics (been there, done that, and married to one)

  13. Marty McFly says:

Wait a minute. Both of you don’t seem to have any actual degrees in climate science.

So shouldn’t both of you shut up?

  14. John B., M.D. says:

He’s obese and has a pet. He should cut down on his carbon footprint.

  15. chris y says:

    Calvin Coolidge nailed it-

“Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan Press On! has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.”

  16. leftinbrooklyn says:

‘Goddard happy to just get some hits in his old age’

Pretty safe bet that ol’ Dave won’t be getting any.

  17. Eric Barnes says:

Yes. Horse Appel has creative writing down cold. His physics and the math skills appear to be stillborn.

  18. Michael says:

Poor David, he lost so many debates on these pages and now has to strike from afar. And now y’all are making fun of his pet!

The true beauty is the reference to creative writing. He is perfect for the IPCC/alarmist crowd. Why stick with the truth when you have invested so much time learning how to write fiction. And the nice thing about creative writing is that internal contradictions are “art” and not “mistakes”.

He and his will get theirs – you can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can’t fool all of the people all of the time.

Luckily, Barry will further weaken the US economy so the next guy, whoever (s)he is, will be forced into common sense and stop spending ridiculous amounts of money to subsidize the doomsday prophecies of the CO2 god. (sorry Steve, I just had to use your words)

  19. Sundance says:

Is it just me or does David look like the result of genetic blending of Jabba the Hut and Michael Moore? Cat people can never be trusted. 🙂

  20. Marty McFly says:

So when all you can do is resort to personal attacks….

    • suyts says:

Well Steve, let’s look at his statement. It can imply one of two things. It could be that “Marty” is indeed daft. It could be that he doesn’t have the capacity to look into the background of this post. It could be that just scrolling down and looking at past posts today is beyond “Marty”. In which case, then the answer to your question would clearly be, yes, “Marty” is daft. In which case, you shouldn’t make fun of the window lickers.

OTOH, it could be that he’s intentionally feigning this apparent obtuseness. If that’s the case, then it seems he has a view similar to Appell’s and he’s sympathetic to people who wish to destroy the liberties inherent to mankind…….. the very liberties which caused progress and the ease of suffering of humanity in a manner never seen in the history of the world.

In other words, he’s a totalitarian scumbag bitch much like our friend David. Which would simply make him a person who is still daft, yet, malevolent as well.

Still, that can’t possibly be, because David was bitching about anonymous commenters, and clearly “Marty” is anonymous. So our “Marty” must simply be daft.

    • People are poking fun because his own writing shows he beyond rational discussion.

When all you can do is be a moron in complaining about it.

  21. ” … I’m out riding my bike … Uh, oh. Not one of those carbon fiber ones made from a brand new carbon footprint big enough to kill all life forms within a 20 foot radius. Myself, I ride a 36 year old solid iron British bike, so I guess I have a global cooling-era iron footprint. Maybe this offsets new bikes.

In defense of Appell, who still hasn’t answered my questions that I know of about Ross Gelbspan’s role in the smear of skeptic scientists, at least he appears happy and contented, plus cats are ok once you get to know a few of the more friendly ones. Romm tends to look scary. I wonder if he owns a parakeet….

  22. No logic or reading comprehension classes in the list, and it shows.

  23. gator69 says:

Looks like Davey needs to lay off the Fancy Feast, and the hallucinogens.

  24. eyesonly says:

Seems that cats cause brain diseases in humans. http://www.npr.org/blogs/health/2012/07/02/156142214/a-parasite-carried-by-cats-could-hurt-humans-sanity

    T. gondii infection, or toxoplasmosis is linked to behavior disorders such as schizophrenia, Alzheimer’s disease, suicide risk, and just general insanity. The photo may be the smoking gun with regards to the insanity issue with Appell and many others from his side of the fence.

And then there’s the issue of tape worms spread to humans by cats.

As a precaution I always cook my cats thoroughly.
