Little they realize that inflation inevitably means fewer and fewer people will care
The Boy who cried wolf. So far, this year has been almost a total dud as far as Hurricanes go.
North Atlantic ACE is normal for this time of year, as reported on Dr. Ryan Maue’s site, and despite the NOAA’s name inflation. Of course, we’ll hear from the usual suspects that ACE is not the proper measure of what’s happening unless, of course, it’s way above normal. Off topic, but you note how important Arctic ice extent is this year now that it appears it will set a new “record.” Look back on the last couple of years when it didn’t, and the Peter Ellis’s of the world suddenly discoverd volume as the proper metric. Back on topic. Did you see how they named Helene? Supposedly a tropical storm for 20 minutes. Who are these guys kidding? No major hurricanes, either.

During recent years, there have been a number of Category 4 hurricanes that might have only been classified as weak hurricanes or even tropical storms if they had taken place at the same location during the late 1940s and early 1950s.

The National Hurricane center found tiny, little Michael floundering helplessly around in the middle of nowhere with a 1006 mb pressure. Their new, hypersenstitive dection devices are now finding every 30 kt. squall in the Atlantic. They could save everyone a lot of bother by not naming anything over 1000 mb.
Well Michael is really intensifying, according to ATCF it is a minimal hurricane and getting stronger by the hour. However, the ACE index this year for this many storms is well below normal, and we still haven’ t even had one major hurricane, yet we have had 13 storms, where’s the AGW?
Let’s not be too hard on the NHC analysts. They must be under tremendous pressure by the NOAA administration to produce numbers consistent with the alarmist “projections”.
If they are only “following orders”, can that be a bad thing? …
