Back on May 29 1987 thunderstorms in West Texas produced softball size hail at Lamesa, and hail up to a foot deep east of Dimmitt. Thunderstorms also spawned 7 tornadoes in West Texas, including one which injured three people. Thunderstorms deluged the Texas Hill Country with up to 11 inches of rain. Severe flooding along the Medino, Hondo, Seco, Sabinal and Frio rivers caused more than $50 million dollars damage.

Sometimes the weather is just bad.
