  1. Andy DC says:

It is remarkable that these kooks have any credibility at all, after all these years of failed predictions.

  2. Jimbo says:

I think Overpeck was Overdoingit. What has global warming done to the boreal forests since the end of the Little Ice Age?

    M.D. Flannigan et. al. – 1998
    Abstract
Future wildfire in circumboreal forests in relation to global warming

Despite increasing temperatures since the end of the Little Ice Age (ca. 1850), wildfire frequency has decreased as shown in many field studies from North America and Europe. We believe that global warming since 1850 may have triggered decreases in fire frequency in some regions and future warming may even lead to further decreases in fire frequency….

Yves Bergeron et. al. – The Holocene – September 1993
    Abstract
Decreasing frequency of forest fires in the southern boreal zone of Québec and its relation to global warming since the end of the ‘Little Ice Age’

We present here evidence from fire and tree-ring chronologies that the post-‘Little Ice Age’ climate change has profoundly decreased the frequency of fires in the northwestern Québec boreal forest.

Must have had a Bong back in the day too.

  4. Environmental science has proven that trees fall over 1.13163162% more frequently due to global warming. (Unfortunately they grow back a few % faster due to the increase in CO2. But let’s not worry about that.) The real concern is that when they fall over, CO2 accelerates their collusion with the ground. Computer modelling has shown this. And this can have an adverse impact on the living conditions of dung beetles. Or something. 😉

If a tree falls in the forest and no climate expert is there to hear it, does it make any noise? What about the tree?

  5. gofer says:

    Wow are they smart:

“Previous computer projections have shown that changes in temperature and rainfall could affect the growth of forests.”

Brilliant, just brilliant. This shows just how important computers have become in gaining knowledge.

  6. You should be able to Google up a pic of “drunken forests” easily enough.
