The Washington, DC area has been a state of panic for the past two days over the prediction of a derecho this afternoon. Big run on batteries, milk, toilet paper, etc. in the stores. Shades of our “Snowquester Blizzard” last March, where every every area school and Government closed due to a quarter inch of snow. Until last June, no one ever heard of a derecho, now everyone is living in mortal fear of them.
