I lived in Arizona for about a decade, and we used to fry eggs on top of the Coleman cooler. Occasionally someone was stupid enough to sit down on top of the cooler in shorts

It is 108 in Phoenix, which is a bit toasty, but considering their all time high is 122, this heatwave is quite garden variety by their standards.
We used to have soccer practice at ASU in 1974 at 3pm, and typical temperature was around 107.
I walk everyday at lunch time for a mile and a half right at the Scottsdale airport. Weather here in Phoenix is just beautiful now. I love it. Nights are balmy and warm – unique climate we have here. Absolutely nothing out of the ordinary; CO2 at 400 parts per million or not.
More shocking news! The Weather Channel just blamed rising summer heat on UHI!!!
They went on to say that in the last 100 years, the percent of the population in this country that lived in urban areas nearly doubled, from 46% to 81%.
The end is near!
