I keep hearing the same thing 114 years later. At least the wheat and beef bit. Think they were on to something or is all of this fear mongering something on continuous recycle?

Progressives started attacking alcohol shortly after the Civil War, and found success when they were able to start teaching the ‘virtues’ of prohibition in schools. They brainwashed an entire generation, who later voted against their own freedoms.
Think about every bar, liquor store, brewery and distillery closing for good. That’s not a small feat! Especially in a country that was practically founded in a bar! For fourteen years there were NO legal drinking establishments and the only legal alcohol was obtained with a physician’s prescription. Sound familiar?
