the job of climate scientists is to tease apart the normal variation from the stuff that’s man-made.
You can go wading in the lake at the North Pole – Boing Boing
I can be a climate scientist!
The natural part is the cyclical 12C variations.
The man-made part is the 0C variation
The job of skeptics is to tease apart the morons who believe this crap from the intelligent people.
The ice core data seems to indicate that each successive glaciation is longer than the previous. If this is true for the next cycle, we are very lucky to live during this period of time.
Reblogged this on The Firewall.
I love how you post a comment about the north pole, and then post Antarctic data, and then don’t realize that the temperature swings are not average global temperature, or forget that the ‘rapid’ rises are not all that rapid compared to the rises we see today, then to top it all off post the SAME refuted cherry picked graph starting from a statistical anomaly to claim temps are cooling when they are not.
Healthy skepticism is fine, but your post is flat out denial and making things up.
Did you hit your head against the concrete recently?
So you don’t have an actual response to anything? That’s not very mature of you.
I’ve responded to that same stupid comment a hundred times. I’m sick of useful idiots cutting and pasting it from their instruction book.
Could you please point out to me exactly where temperatures are rising within the past 17 years? … paaaalleeeezzz, show me…

Homer, is there some reason you are including the post-Mt. Pinatubo eruption cooling period at the start of your graph?
oh come on Steve, give the dweeb a break…
….he found 0.05 degrees of warming in 17 years
LOL
Maggie Koerth-Baker at Boing Boing is obviously a top-rate science journalist who assiduously checks her facts:
a. … contrary to the knee-jerk assumption I made about this story …
b. North Pole Elemental Observatory repeated several times – whaaat? It’s the North Pole Environmental Observatory (in large yellow letters at the top of the NPEO home page).
Oh no! It looks like we are headed off a cliff! We better burn as much fossil fuel as humanly possible to prevent another Ice Age! We must reach 1200 ppm by 2050 or we are doomed!
I’m working on it. Omaha Steaks just sent me some BEEF, and it was packed with DRY ICE. Cool fog effect was achieved. 😉
