The majority of Chicago gang violence is targeted against blacks. This raises the important questions : Do gangs profile their victims, and do gangs use profiling as a way of determining gang ownership?
For example, one of these two people is not a gang member. It is a felony to try to guess which is which.
It must be the neighborhood watchmen.
Inner city gang problem is another byproduct of “progressive” policies dating back to the GI Bill after WWII, and other policies since.
The “white flight” from cities was subsidized by the GI Bill, when new suburbs housed freshly minted middle class college grads. Together with the interstate highways, then desegregation, it left the inner cities only for the underclass when black middle class left there, too.
The pattern of social engineering and isolating certain groups for favored benefits, then endless attempts to apply band aids to the unlucky groups, continues today with Medicaid, Obamacare, and Immigration Reform.
London, during the 18th century, had a bad gang problem. Hell, Paris throughout the Middle Ages had a bad gang problem. Today it’s Mexico with the bad gang problem. In their case, a really bad one.
The reason is always the same: more young men than there are jobs.
Back in 1948 I saw white flight up close and personal. The reason? Black GIs went home from the war, took one look around Alabama and headed straight up to Baltimore, to get a good job. And whatever neighborhood they had the money to move into, all the white folks moved out of.
You didn’t hear that much about gangs back then. Everybody was too busy working to mess with that stuff. But since then? They’re everywhere now.

Imagine how violent this guy was when he wasn’t stoned. Of course he also had liver damage from enjoying the nectar of the hood, ‘purple drank’. So there is no telling what this thug had been smoking, huffing, drinking or even injecting right before he violently attacked the neighborhood watchman.
