Fish Stories In The Arctic

We are still battling against the wind! Today we tried to sneak up an inlet today that, according to our charts, would have allowed us to make progress in the lee of some high ground. Unfortunately the charts were not correct and after six hours of pushing and pulling we ended up 930 precious meters ahead of where we started!

The bottom line is that rowing into a 30kt wind with our boat is not only impossible but also very dangerous as the sea has become really nasty.

Still battling the wind!

Right … 12 MPH is the new 30 knots

  1. Andy Oz says:

According to some warmists, the sea level is much much higher in some parts of the ocean compared to others. Maybe the rowing team are on the part of the Arctic sea that is at high altitude and so the wind is extreme up there. (Sounds stupid but alarmists believe this stuff -lol)

  2. It appears the the second dumbest man on the internet is wrong when he claims that it has been ice keeping the rowers on shore.
Steve, if you’re able to, could you please explain to your low information readers what the green water contains.

Are you really this slow or is it just an act?

    • I see. So you think their plan is row the Canadian Archipelago, while remaining in the McKenzie River Delta for the rest of the summer.

Did someone beat your head against the parking lot recently?

    • Chewer says:

Have you and your cult have no shame by sending these ignorant guys to their crushing defeat?
A warped and twisted mind is no way to go through life Reggie.
August 9th is getting closer and Jenny Lind Island is looking forward to greeting them with a chilled grin:)

    • Richard Lynch says:

I don’t think he has claimed that. The ice is up ahead. They may never get that far if they stop rowing whenever it is windy.

    • Richard Lynch says:

And the rowers themselves know there is ice blocking them ahead. As they say on their site: “And the forced break may be a blessing in disguise too. Ice still blocks our route ahead and a strong blow is exactly what’s needed to break things up.”

    • Ben says:

RE: Reggie – “is wrong when he claims that it has been ice keeping the rowers on shore”

RE: The(non)Rowers – “Ice still blocks our route ahead”

The non-Rowers are wrong when they claims there is ice. Reggie is right.

  3. Gamecock says:

I figured it out! They are using Microsoft Streets & Trips!

    • Streetcred says:

… or that famed Google Navigation app !

      • Marian says:

        LOL:

They could be using an new app. Called ice free Arctic 2013.

It doesn’t matter where you navigate from it assures you there’s no ice in your path. And when You find sea ice or an iceberg well it doesn’t count as ice. Since the Ice Free Arctic App is always right. 🙂

  4. Fred from Canuckistan says:

Well we know who is the dumbest person on the Internet.

How does it feel to be infamous Reggie?

How does it feel to be disconnected from reality?

Does it actually hurt when you use both brain cells together?

What happened to your blowtorch prediction?

  5. Traitor In Chief says:

Looking at the size of the craft, and assuming two (2) rowers and (2) resting, this is a craft without much power. If it must fight wind, and even small chunks of ice, ….. well, the outcome is obvious.

If these Nitwits were FOLLOWING an icebreaker, they couldn’t row thru the broken ice.

It’s beginning to look like Reggie is their leader.

  6. Stephen Richards says:

Sounds like they are pulling the boat over land to move forward. I feel very, very sorry for the idiots (includes you reggie). They must be sooooo pissed of with reggies zof this world that persuaded them to do this trip. Oh boy are they going to be angry inside.

Outside it will have been a great success when the snows come in 3 weeks and they are airlifted away by a co² gorging machine.

  7. Streetcred says:

You can assured about one thing and that is that this merry band of ‘rowers’ haven’t got blistered from rowing !

  8. Sleepalot says:

Apparently no-one told them you can guess wind speed from waves using the Beaufort wind scale.

  9. Otter says:

I’m half-expecting their location tracker to suddenly show them hundreds of kilometers along their projected path.
