Fox News : Missing South Carolina Sea Ice Stranding Baby Seals

Harp seals mate and rear their young on the sea ice off the east coast of Canada in the spring and move north as the weather warms. But increasing numbers of seals are ending up stranded along the U.S. East Coast, as far south as the Carolinas, far away from where they should be at this time of year.

They start out in Canada and move north to the Carolinas.

As ice levels in the North Atlantic have declined, the number of seals that have wound up on beaches, either dead or in poor health, has increased, new research shows.

No one ever accused the presstitutes of having an ounce of brains. Or of knowing how to read a map and/or a compass….

Florida is really part of Canada and it is the lack of sea ice off the coast of Florida that is causing the problem! 😉 If conditions would only return to what they were before AGW caused sea ice to disappear along the Florida Keys we would not be having these problems!

Harp seals REGULARLY appear at Assateague Island, Virginia and generally appear there starting in late winter (February or March). That is not very far from the North Carolina coast at all.

It sounds like they’re getting navigation advice from Team Reggie.

  8. Billy Liar says:

Isn’t it astonishing that the rowers haven’t got a clue about the state of the tide? In shallow water it’s essential to know what’s happening with the tide.

  9. SMS says:

While living in Australia, Canadians were lovingly referred to as “seal bashers”. Poor seals have no chance, Canadians on one side and sick redneck North Carolinians looking to bar-be-que anything that swims, walks or flys on the other
