Julienne Stroeve made this comment two days ago :
Back when the sea was thick and lasted for years, cyclones tended to spread the ice out and actually increase its extent, said Julienne Stroeve of the National Snow and Ice Data Center in Boulder, Colo. Now, when ice gets spread out, it simply breaks up and disappears.
“As our ice cover has thinned, some of our old rules are changing,” said Stroeve.

Gee, -1 C on July at Nunavut!
I have been living most of my live inside The Arctic Circle and living right now. We have got snow every summer including this one. In every July there has been below zero temperatures. Not just -1 C but more. And yes, I can see how climate has been warmed in my lifetime. If I compare the photos taken by my grandfather or father the is a huge difference between old and these days. Winters start later and springs start earlier. Temparetures below -40 C are rare. This summer here was a huge heat wave.
It was warmer where you live in the 1930s
