Interestingly, the MLF rowers seem to have headed into a closed bay — transmitted one ping and were done. Are they hiding from a storm, or did they simply not realize that there was no outlet to this body of water? That has happened at least once to them before, and (I suspect) twice, based on path and ping times when they seemed to be trapped in a narrow passageway.
They clearly have GPS (though it might not actually be on a display visible to them) — perhaps they just need better maps.

I think I would start with the brains first. The maps would be a long way doan the list for these bozos.

I hit within one inch of center at 20 yards about 60% of the time.
I have a 12 ga repair kit, that never fails to resolve my issues, and it gives a lovely report when finished.
