McCain acknowledged that he thought “long and hard”

McCain: After thinking ‘long and hard,’ US should suspend aid to Egypt | Fox News

This surprises me, because he has shown little sign of brain activity over the last five years.

Regardless, I will always have the utmost respect for anyone who simply survived the horror that he did and resume life on the outside reasonably sane.

I respect him for what he went through during the war, but he should have gotten out of politics long ago instead of ruining the respect people had for him by his positions on many controversial subjects.

    • In 1980, McCain played a key role in getting a photographer friend of mine released from a Soviet prison in Afghanistan. He immediately responded to my letter and took action.

But that was 33 years ago, before global warming destroyed the Arctic ice cap..

      • miked1947 says:

I have no problem with the man he used to be and I respect the man he used to be! It is the man he became after AGW fried his brain.

      • Chewage says:

He was a POW along with the Captain of my ship and was once an honorable man.
He’s been trying to go with the flow over the past three decades, evolving into a “go-along-to-get-along sort of guy, which is the biggest part of our Country’s problem…

      • Eric Simpson says:

        McCain’s a freakin idiot.

Sure, we respect the good things he did decades ago. And his time in Vietnam as a POW. But he needs to retire pronto. Let the R governor appoint a replacement. McCain should put himself out to pasture and enjoy the warn (not warmer) AZ breezes.

McCain is an idiot. This is about his obsession with sending military aid to Syria (another dumb idea). I guess he feels supporting the military would be a contradiction. McCain never thinks things through, he acts too impulsively and then backs himself into a corner. We should support the people who have the same values as us against those who do not. Giving aid to the Muslim Brotherhood who are anti-American, anti-woman, anti-Christian, anti-gay, anti-Israel, anti-anyonewhoisn’tIslamist and then not supporting the military which supports us and our democratic principles is stupid.

After McCain was shot down he needed medical treatment. The North Vietnamese did not give medical treatment, especially major treatment, unless the prisoner could offer them something. McCain, in an article, stated he offered them military information for treatment. As he is alive and has offered no other reason for the NV to have saved him, I am comfortable with calling him a traitor who gave military information on his squadrons order of battle which may have contributed to losses.

During his early detention he was apparently given very good treatment along with the medical care. He claims this was due to his being from a family with Admirals. Whether or not this was true, against his oath, he allowed himself to be interviewed by a number of foreign journalists which was used for Propaganda purposes. Doesn’t take a genius to figure the NV would not allow it otherwise. Some of these interviews were broadcast to damage our troops moral.

McCain collaborated with Kerry to stop all pressure on North Vietnam to divulge or assist in gathering information on POW/MIA. The bill implementing this was signed in 1991 covering up the despicable actions of our gubmint and the North Vietnamese.

“Included in the evidence that McCain and his government allies suppressed or sought to discredit is a transcript of a senior North Vietnamese general’s briefing of the Hanoi politburo, discovered in Soviet archives by an American scholar in 1993. The briefing took place only four months before the 1973 peace accords. The general, Tran Van Quang, told the politburo members that Hanoi was holding 1,205 American prisoners but would keep many of them at war’s end as leverage to ensure getting war reparations from Washington.”

In general, McCain has been one of the relentless forces in congress to collaborate with Islam to seemingly fight the Russians. This activity only appears to have given Islam control of territory without doing any damage to the Russians as in the Balkans, Northern Africa, and now Syria. Afghanistan fighting the Russians directly was before McCain’s time so to speak, and was allowed to deteriorate after the “win.”

    • Brian Mawick says:

In recent history, Islam has always controlled the Balkans, North Africa and Syria… and Turkey, the Arabian Peninsula, Mesopotamia, Iran, the North of the Indian Subcontinent, etc, etc. Nothing to do with traitorous JMc.

      • kuhnkat says:

        Brian Mawick,

what does it matter that Islam “in recent history” has controlled ANYTHING?? They had to CONQUER it and those they took it from are certainly going to try and take it back, The fact that we have nut jobs in the US who support those violent nutjobs means we need to clean up our own back yard. Since they STILL do not control Yugoslavia and other areas your RECENT HISTORY is rather shoddy itself!! WE have helped them take back Afghanistan, Bosnia, Kosovo, etc.

Bottom line is that Islam is a violent expansionist POLITICAL organization masquerading as a religion. Its Quran and Hadiths empower Muslims to do anything they please as long as it can be seen to advance the cause of their medieval god allah. They use Taqqiyah well and have fooled myriads of modern people.

      Kuhnkat—I will read.
Also, when he was running for president I think he showed sighs of dementia, but then, so do I. I think he has felt the limelight too much and won’t let go. I believe that everyone who has commented here thinks he should have retired a while ago.
