The rowers claim that they are “storm bound”
Note the sunshine in the cabin, light winds and temperature in the mid to upper 60s.
In other words, their hands are blistered and 50 miles away the route is blocked by ice.

4 NM in the last 25 hours.
winds out of the east and north east….
blowing it right on them
…and the morons still couldn’t figure out where the ice went
Well, while they were storm bound they either did a hell of a lot of rowing or they portaged across the ice, because they made a great leap forward in GPS location. They are on the move again, having made it to the bird sanctuary or whatever the hell the unlabled green area is on the map.
That is just over four miles, about 45 minutes of rowing.
And, in the last twenty minutes, they seem to have stalled again.
Their expressions look drug induced, if not downright creepy. Will have nightmares just thinking about the one on the front right. He would be a perfect fit for the next chain saw massacre movie.
Stormbound or ice constipation ?
with all that wasted time on their hands, maybe those blisters came from extra curricular activities:)
Pass the beans please…
That picture says it all, I had arctic training – military- only a shelter half or snow cave- moved on snow shoes. Did not, of course get up to the arctic circle- far from it in Alaska. But windchill,s could be close to 100 below F degrees. If you have that kind of convenience, you are proving nothing. At least brave the elements a little!
Nonetheless, it’s going to get boring in that little Pod. If that’s the Cabin of their “Rowboat” they’re going to need help to drag that thing hundreds of miles.
The first “icePod”!!! 😀
Apple will be pleased.
Looks like they’ve stalled again…
At this rate their single malt will be toast:)
No photo yet of the icy Arctic sea. Excellent control of the drip of information.
These guys are PR pros! I’ll be interested to see if they ever get past “Tuk”.
The Gore Effect may do them in if the bears don’t:)
Go Team Twisted Go!
I’ll provide a Satellite Photo (in lieu of the Rowing Team providing anything other than Pod snaps – not high resolution unfortunately) that shows the existential sea ice is blocking the rowing route for about 1000 km or so. What a fun trip! But Reggie reckons it will melt soon! What a guy!

There’s so much ice down there, I can’t see the clouds. 🙂
Well. Has anyone tried posting this on the site tracking them??
You don’t think this is actually a solidarity row with the LGBT types do you??
The location 69.39767,-133.17516 is really in a bay.

Wow that wind is really penetrating. The wind chill must be high!
They could easily attach the GPS to a snowmobile and gently pull the canoe across the ice.

It shows that they are right now in an 1-3/10 ice concentration area.

The guy on the far left looks a little like Chris Elliott. “Cabin Boy”, anyone?
