The Sanford police detective who questioned George Zimmerman the night he shot Trayvon Martin became the latest prosecution witness to appear to do more harm than good to the state’s case, recalling a somber conversation that touched on Zimmerman’s faith and the fear he said he felt when Martin told him “You’re going to die tonight.”
Detective Doris Singleton testified Monday that Zimmerman seemed somber and conflicted as she interviewed him after the February 2012 shooting. She said Zimmerman asked her about the crucifix around her neck and buried his head in his hands upon learning Martin had died.
“I had a silver cross on and he asked me if I was Catholic,” Singleton said during testimony. “I said, ‘No. I’m Christian. Why are you asking?'”
She said Zimmerman replied, saying that he had noticed the cross and told Singleton that it was “always wrong to kill” someone.
“I said to him, ‘If what you’re telling me is true then I don’t think that’s what God meant. [That] you couldn’t save your own life,'” she told the court.
Singleton testified that a shocked Zimmerman replied, “He’s dead?” to which she said, “I thought you knew that.”

Who jumps people? If you do, you deserve to get shot. If you tried to jump me on my property, you would get shot.
Not enough thugs end up dead, IMHO.
Agreed!
My thoughts exactly!

It is annoying that some people still want Zimmerman crucified no matter what the testimony says.
I find it rather disturbing as well.
Frankly, I’m sick of being lynched by the media.
I’m sorry, you must be of the wrong, umm, er, color … I too suffer from the same affliction. I guess lady justice is blind, just not color blind.
Ummm…Trayvonne is the one who got “jumped”. Let’s remember this kid was doing NOTHING wrong when Zimmerman approached him against the police’s wishes. I’m not sure how I would react if I was walking down the street minding my own business and someone came up to me in a hostile way.
Bullshit He could have easily outrun Zimmerman, just as he easily beat his face in.
According to testimony, Zimmerman was on his way back to his car after he lost sight of Trayvon, who jumped him from behind some bushes. Trayvon had a history of random violence, and was not participating in a neighborhood watch.
Err what? That’s the first I heard of this. Any links to back that up?
